Turning Point
When I was in high school I never cared about anything or did not
care what anyone thought. I did have good grades in school and really loved
school but as for my parents and other people no one was important. As I started
hanging out with the wrong people in high school, I started to get bad grades
and stopped going to school; therefore, my grades started going downhill. I
stopped caring about my grades and kept hanging out with the people I was, we
did drugs and went to parties. I always stayed out late and sometimes never came
home. As a result to doing all of this I got pregnant and I got very sick. I
still graduated high school but not with the grade point average I wanted. I was
in the hospital for most of my pregnancy and had a hard time keeping my weight
stable and food in my stomach so my baby could eat.
The first time I held my son, my life changed dramatically. I
knew I had to straighten up my life and learn how not only to take care of
myself but also for a new born baby. I wanted to go back to school and needed
to work so I could take care of myself and my son. I needed help, so I had to
turn to my parents for help and they help me still to this day. Now that I am
going to school and work two jobs I could not be happier in life. I know I did
some horrible things in my past but I would never regret anything I have done
because I wouldn’t be where I am at today if it wasn’t for my son. He has
pushed me and has helped me to make goals that we could make happen as a
family.
